Engineered Quartz

Quartz slabs are 90-93% natural crushed quartz, reclaimed from granite quarries and waste from the stone slab manufacturing process, mixed with polymer resins.

Slab sizes are typically 54” x 120” with some manufacturers now offering slightly larger sizes and different thickness.

"...All quartz slabs are man made using the same process..."

Quartz is found in great abundance on the planet and is also one of its strongest materials. In fact, only three other minerals on Earth are harder - Sapphires, topaz and diamonds. This makes your quartz countertop very difficult to scratch or chip. Quartz is water, stain and scratch resistant.

Quartz countertops are non-porous; therefore, they are highly resistant to stains from coffee, wine, lemon juice, as well as many other common household products. Its non-porous nature also makes it more difficult for bacteria, mold and mildew to grow, and also means it does not need to be sealed or treated to keep its lustrous shine. It is highly germ resistant and cleans easily with soap and water.

Quartz is heat-resistant and will withstand limited exposure to heat without burning or scorching. All of this adds up to a surface that is virtually maintenance-free.

Quartz is vulnerable to UV rays and therefore is not approved for outdoor application.

Quartz is ideal for kitchen countertops, islands, and table tops, bathroom vanities, tub and shower surrounds.
